Assemblywomen Petrie-Norris, Calderon Issue Joint Statement following Release of CEA Report

Sacramento, CA – Assemblywoman Cottie Petrie-Norris (D-Irvine) and Assemblywoman Lisa Calderon (D-Whittier) issued the following statement in response to the report filed yesterday by the California Earthquake Authority, pursuant to SB 254 (2025):

“We thank the California Earthquake Authority for the significant time and effort invested in developing the Natural Catastrophe Resiliency Study. This was a substantial undertaking, and we appreciate the thorough engagement with stakeholders and the careful analysis reflected in this work.

 We are confident that this study will help guide meaningful, long-term reforms to better prepare California for future disasters, strengthen resilience, and protect our communities. We look forward to working collaboratively with the Governor and our colleagues in the Assembly and Senate as we review the options and determine the best path forward.

After working her way through Yale University, where she double majored in Economics and English, Cottie had a successful 20-year career in finance and technology.
