Costa Mesa, CA – Assemblywoman Cottie Petrie-Norris and Orange County Coastkeeper hosted a river channel cleanup on Saturday, March 22, at the Santa Ana-Delhi Channel near the Upper Newport Bay—one of California’s few remaining estuaries. Volunteers collected 1,400 pounds of trash ranging from large bulky household items to bottles, disposable vapes, and Styrofoam that would otherwise end up in the Upper Newport Bay.

Costa Mesa, CA – Assemblywoman Cottie Petrie-Norris and Orange County Coastkeeper hosted a river channel cleanup on Saturday, January 31, at the Santa Ana-Delhi Channel near Upper Newport Bay. Volunteers collected nearly 1,000 pounds of trash ranging from large bulky items to plastic bags, bottles, cigarettes and other micro plastics that would otherwise end up in Upper Newport Bay and along the coastline.

Irvine, CA – In honor of Veterans Day, Assemblywoman Cottie Petrie-Norris hosted the seventh annual Veterans of the Year Ceremony at Irvine Valley College, where three distinguished veterans were recognized for their exemplary military service and enduring contributions to fellow veterans and the Orange County community.

SACRAMENTO — Governor Gavin Newsom signed AB 366 into law, solidifying California’s renewed commitment to ending the state’s deadly drunk-driving crisis. AB 366, by Assemblymember Cottie Petrie-Norris (D-Irvine), extends California’s current ignition interlock device (IID) program, which contains a loophole by only applying to drivers convicted of two or more DUIs.

Irvine, CA – Assemblywoman Cottie Petrie-Norris hosted a series of Senior Scam Stopper℠ Seminars in Costa Mesa, Irvine, and Tustin to help older adults and their caregivers recognize, prevent, and report financial scams. The seminars, held in partnership with the Contractors State License Board, California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation, and Council on Aging – Southern California, provided valuable education and resources to protect constituents from fraud and financial exploitation.
